Dracula [culture]

I was just looking at the french musical 'Dracula, entre l'amour et la mort' (Dracula, between love and death) and I realized I didn't know anything about the story at all. So I searched over the internet to find the original story (by Bram Stoker), I was suprised to see that even though it's a very old novel, the style of it is totally modern. The book is actually a selection of letters and documents written by people who were involved with Dracula in some way. I must say I'm totally fascinated by that kind of things, it makes it feel so real. I'm off to the library to get a copy.

Ballet shopping [my life]

So I went ballet shopping today, I wanted to buy some ballet costume inspired things as I have decided that is going to be my summer look. I was quiet dissapointed to see that there's not a lot of fresh light colors in the shops currently, most of them don't have there (complete) summercollection yet unfortunately. I did buy some nude colored flats, a white top and gray overknee legwarmers, I guess it's a start. I also wanted to buy nude colored pumps, so I can switch from flat to heels without ruin my outfit, but I couldn't find the right pair that looks good but is also possible to walk in. Now that I think about it, I should probably also get a new bag to go with the ballerina style. Not sure what kind of bag that should be. I haven't bought any bags lately because I just can't find a bag that doesn't look like something I already have. Maybe I'm just more of a shoes-person, because no matter how many pairs of shoes I have, I can always buy new ones that aren't alike of anything I own.

I just looked around my room, and saw the great mess it has become in only one day (I swear I don't know how it happens, one moment it's totally cleaned up and the next you can't even walk because of all the clothes and shoes lying around everywhere). I have to admit my wardrobe has grown in about a year to twice it's original size, since I started having jobs a year ago so I could actually afford buying new things every week (it's bad I know, I just can't walk around knowing that there's money on the bank for me and not buying anything, I'd better move to a dessert where there's no shopping center anywhere close). But having a lot is a good thing you know, it's very important to look good, we're living in a very visual world, the inside is no longer important. (OK, I didn't even believed that myself)

Black swan inspiration photos [my life]

Black swan inspiration [my life]

Today I decided to go to the library to get some magazines for inspiration. And it crossed my mind that lately I'm inspired by films, people I see and art, and not so much anymore by fashionshows or designers. For example I red an article about 'Black Swan' (a film with Nathalie Portman and Mila Kunis about balletdancers) and feeld very inspired by the costumes and whole ballet style of dressing. I like balet costumes, everything I love in is there, the legwarmers, nude colors, tights, buns, skirts... This is perfect.

Princess Victoria [inspiration]

Like Coco Chanel said: A lady should be classy and fabulous.
In that case, she'd be proud of Princess Victoria of Sweden.

The Spanish brand Pull & Bear is opening near my house and to me the great honor to get a job there as one of the first! I'm so so so happy and I look forward to working there a lot! To be honest, I didn't knew anything about Pull & Bear untill I saw the advert and looked it up, the site's great and shows a lot of lovely designs in both clothing and jewelry.

Country girl [wishlist]

I was having the greatest dream ever last night, I saw myself walking around in a sort of country girl outfit with denim shorts, a big tee and knee-high boots. I might be inspired a bit by Jessica Simpson in The Dukes of Hazzard. Anyway, that's going to be my ultimate look this summer, I feel it.

Pastel [inspiration]

I was looking for all-pastel outfits on the internet, but I can't say my search was very succesfull, actually I only found these three pictures which surprises me becaus I love the concept.

So this outfit is more of a all-white kind of look. I love how she matches a light outfit with the dark bag, makes it more outstanding.

This lady already stands out with her red hear, and I like the fact that it's even more prominent thanks to her light outfit. Although I don't actually like this outfit because of the dress.

This one I like best from the three of them, I think this outfit looks very compromized. Boyfriend-like trousers but with a very feminine shoe, and the bag certainly is amazing! I also love the fact she actually combinates different pastel colors.

The perfect outfit [inspiration]

This outfit has been a huge inspiration for me for quiet some time now, I love the basic outfit -light top, dark skirt- it's simple, it's flattering, it's feminine, just a great classic. But the (AMAZING) red pumps and the leopard clutch are the eyecatchers that make it memorable.

Some ideas on spring/summer '11 [inspiration]

Eversince I´ve quitted college the main thing going on in my life is a growing pile of things I should do but just don´t feel like, causing me stress. I guess the weather and a lack of things keeping me busy makes me a little sad and because of that, the only outfit I can put together lately is an all black outfit. Now I think all-black looks very classy and feminine, and it's also very easy to put together as you don't have to pay any attention to color combinations. The things is, you can't wear all-black in the summer a lot. But that's just my vision, I like to wear light colors in the summer. So I was looking through my wardrobe, and I saw a lot of pastels and brown-shades already there I didn't even remember buying! Some time ago I read an article on French fashion, and it said a typical French thing is an outfit that combinates different shades of one color but in a way you don't look like a clown. I'm really looking forward to doing that with pastels this summer!
